Class of 2024 Graduation Pledge Campaign Kicks Off

Class of 2024 Class Agents

The Class of 2024 has kicked off its pledge campaign: 24K Magic.

Led by Graduation Committee Co-Chairs Emma Danziger and Kennedy Williams, 29 class agent volunteers will reach out to every classmate to ask for a pledge of future support as a graduation gift to the Law School.

The Class of 2024 wants to make its mark as a class that contributed to the UVA Law community in considerable ways during their time at Virginia and continuing the tradition of involvement after taking their final steps through the historic grounds of UVA.

Their legacy will be seen as a gift of gratitude to the thousands of alumni who financially support the Law School each year, and, as a challenge to students who follow.

Please join the class and pledge the 24K Magic campaign. Every pledge counts and every pledge matters. Your participation helps secure the Law School’s future and honor its past.

FAQs

What is the Class of 2024 Pledge Campaign?

The Class of 2024 Pledge Campaign is the class’s promise of future financial support to the Law School, emphasizing collective participation. Class members are asked to make a four-year pledge that can support any fund at UVA Law or the unrestricted (“current use”) fund. The first payment is not due until the following annual giving campaign. The school’s campaigns run from July 1 – June 30.

Why Does UVA Law need the money?

  • The Law School receives no financial support from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Last year, alumni giving, i.e., annual gifts and endowment income, provided the Law School with almost one-third of its enterprise operating budget.
  • Alumni donations provide funding for student financial aid and loan forgiveness; professorships and summer research support; library needs; student publications and organizations; and other priorities as they develop.

Isn't my tuition enough?

Tuition and fees are significantly less than the Law School’s expenditure per student. While the percentage varies slightly from year to year, tuition covers approximately two-thirds of the cost of attendance.
