Ten students in the Class of 2024 at the University of Virginia School of Law have obtained positions with the federal government after graduation.

While some students will work on Capitol Hill, others will be employed by the military and with a wide variety of agencies, ranging from the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission to the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition.

Amanda Yale, a director of public service at the Law School and part of the Career Development counseling team, said she appreciates the opportunity to help students pursue their dream careers. Yale and fellow Director of Public Service Dawn Davison work with students to design their public service careers. Their efforts start before law classes begin and can sometimes last for decades for alumni who are looking at a career change.

“I think it’s incredible when students set their sights on a goal as soon as they arrive on Grounds,” Yale said. “And then they graduate and achieve it.”

Here’s where the students who have obtained federal government roles so far are headed after graduation.
