Course Description

This course will meet 8 times during the semester. At most meetings, a leading scholar will present a current legal research paper that uses a methodology from social science. These meetings take place over lunch, and they happen about every other week. During some of the intervening weeks, there will be a regular class session. There will be no final exam. Instead, students will submit short reaction papers. The workshop is also attended by UVa faculty interested in the topic. The workshop provides a unique opportunity for students to engage with peers, faculty and outside speakers, exchange ideas, and witness, participate in and contribute to legal scholarship.
