We make every effort to announce scholarships offered by outside agencies which may be of interest to our students.  These scholarships have their own applications, procedures, criteria, and deadlines.  Please note that advertisement of these scholarships does not imply endorsement of any organization or firm.

MILESTONE TRIAL LawHER SCHOLARSHIP 

The Milestone Trial LawHER Scholarship helps a rising 3L female law student achieve her goal of becoming a plaintiff trial lawyer. This scholarship program intends to elevate a rising leader in the plaintiff trial lawyer space and educate future trial lawyers around the importance and impact of settlement planning.

 

SAMVID SCHOLARS

A merit-based scholarship for future leaders and changemakers, Samvid Scholars was established in 2021 by Samvid Ventures to invest in the graduate education of future leaders who are committed to effecting positive change in society. Beyond funding, Scholars participate in two years of programming with a cohort of exceptional peers to deepen their self-knowledge and explore their leadership, purpose, and path to impact. 

 

GOODWIN HBCU SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Goodwin will provide $15,000 scholarships to recent graduates or graduating seniors or of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) who will be starting law school in the fall.

Awardees will have the opportunity to interact with Goodwin lawyers over the course of the year, as well as learn more about our organizations and various legal practices. Each awardee will also take part in a mentorship relationship with a Goodwin lawyer in group and individual settings during their 1L year.

 

THE JUDGE JOHN R. BROWN SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

The Judge John R. Brown Scholarship Foundation is pleased to announce the thirty-first annual Brown Award. The Award honors excellence in legal writing in American law schools. Any law student currently enrolled in an accredited law school in the United States seeking a J.D. or LL.B degree is eligible to submit a paper for the Award.

SOUTH ASIAN BAR ASSOCIATION OF DC - PUBLIC INTEREST FELLOWSHIP

SABA-DC provides its Public Interest Fellowship to law students working or interning at public interest organizations in the metropolitan D.C. area over the summer. The primary purpose of the Fellowship is to award a grant that offers law students financial assistance to pursue internships with a public interest organization for the benefit of the South Asian community and the metropolitan D.C. area. 

$1,500 to $4,500

VIRGINIA STATE BAR - MULTIPLE OPPORTUNITIES

The sections of the Virginia State Bar offer several exciting opportunities for Virginia law students to earn monetary prizes through annual and semi-annual writing competitions.

 

HUDSON COUNTY (NEW JERSEY) BAR FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Hudson County Bar Foundation Scholarship Fund is one of the oldest providers of financial assistance to Hudson County law students.  Esteemed members and families of the Hudson County legal community have funded these 52 scholarships. 

 

PHILLIP ROBINSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Any low-income undergraduate or graduate student who is currently enrolled in law school or is actively applying to law school may apply for this scholarship.

 

ALFORD & CLARK INJURY ATTORNEYS - STUDENTS IN NEED SCHOLARSHIP

Alford & Clark Injury Attorneys is offering financial assistance to college students throughout the United States. They are incredibly honored and excited to announce the launch of their $2,000 Students in Need Scholarship. 

 

RVA PERSONAL INJURY LAWYERS - TRIAL LAWYERS UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

RVA Personal Injury Lawyers is offering a scholarship for one law student who intends to work as a trial lawyer in Virginia to attend Trial Lawyers University Icon Las Vegas 2024.

$500 to $1,000

CHARLES E. JOSEPH EMPLOYMENT LAW SCHOLARSHIP

The Charles E. Joseph Employment Law Scholarship grants a $1,000 scholarship each year to current or admitted law students. Applicants submit a resume, unofficial transcripts, and an essay on challenges facing workers' rights. 

 

MENDES HERSHMAN STUDENT WRITING CONTEST

The Mendes Hershman Student Writing Contest is a highly regarded legal writing competition that encourages and rewards law students for their outstanding writing on business law topics. The distinguished and highly-regarded former Business Law Section Chair, Mendes Hershman (1974-1975) lends his name to this legacy.

 

NATALIE JOY POREMSKI SCHOLARSHIP

Any Christian, pro-life undergraduate or graduate student who is pursuing higher education in law, medicine, or political science may apply for this scholarship.

 

ABA FORUM ON CONSTRUCTION LAW WRITING COMPETITION

The competition is open to any student age 21 years or older enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school during the academic years 2023 and 2024 of the competition who is a legal resident of the United States. This is a great resume builder and even if a particular student does not receive first place, he/she may have an opportunity to be nationally published in one of the ABA Forum on Construction Law publications. Runners up will have an opportunity for publication as well! 

 

THE ANDREW FLUSCHE LAW SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP

Attorney Andrew Flusche, from Flusche & Fitzgerald is currently seeking applicants for its Andrew Flusche Law School Scholarship contest. Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited law school located in the United States and submit an application, essay, and letter of recommendation.

 

TJ CROWSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Any low-income high school senior or undergraduate student who is pursuing law may apply for this scholarship.
