Course Description

This discussion-based short course combines law and 4th year medical students to examine in depth a number of current topics in law, medicine, and society, such as organ transplantation, recent human research scandals, vaccination policy, unilateral treatment withdrawal, and posthumous reproduction. Topics vary year to year. The combination of law and medical students allows for exploration of the perspectives of different professions

Written Work Product

Students will be required to submit short response papers (directly to instructor, not EXPO), and a longer final paper (approx. 8-10 pages inclusive of footnotes) on a topic related to the course subject matter chosen by the student. The final paper is due via EXPO by noon on March 14, 2024.
