January 28, 2005

Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Beverly Harmon will leave her post at the end of the spring semester to join her husband, William, the University's Senior Vice President, who will become the president of Central College in Houston, Texas, in February. He joined the University administration in 1994 as vice president for student affairs after having been vice chancellor of student affairs at the University of Pittsburgh.

Beverly Harmon has held her post in the Law School since 1995.

"Beverly's departure will be a very great loss," said Law School Dean John C. Jeffries Jr. "We are deeply grateful for her years of astute, compassionate, and effective leadership."

The Harmons' only child, Hilary, is an attorney in Houston.
