Accommodations

Charlottesville has many lodging options at every price point. Visit the Charlottesville Visitor's Bureau for a full list of available accommodations.

Parking and Transportation

Parking at the Law School is extremely limited during the Open House. We strongly encourage visitors to carpool, get dropped off by a family member or friend, or walk from nearby hotels to the Law School. If you do choose to drive, parking may be available in the D2 Law School visitor lot and the large D3 parking lot next to the Law School (follow navigation to 580 Massie Road). Permits will not be required during the event. (More Information About Getting to the Law School)

Though you can usually find taxis waiting to meet nearly every flight at the Charlottesville Airport, you may want to consider booking a ride in advance if you are arriving at popular or off-peak times. A list of taxis with airport permits is available on the airport website.

Guests

We understand that a decision about where to attend law school can affect more than just an admitted student. Guests such as parents and significant others are welcome to join us for the Thursday Welcome Picnic, law school tours, Friday lunch and the Notable Alumni Reception. There is also a special “Parents and Partners Panel” hosted by our dean of student affairs on Friday afternoon. Other programs outside of these events are reserved for admitted students only. Your guests are welcome to relax in any of our public spaces and explore Charlottesville as they please.
